Halo fellow badoque kakis! It’s been a day since MaQ propelled herself into the realm of bashing.Haha.Firstly MaQ would like to thank to all those fans for their nice comments and emails that you’ve sent MaQ.It is true “Dila” as you prefer to be known that the Malay mentality needs to change in eating establishments and as a whole. To “Rahimah”, thank you for your kind words and support of this green hole at Simpang Bedok.
To ” Raymond ” in which i think your real name is Rahman, I’m glad you love Badoque’s relaxed environment and cheap prices.To Seri and her husband,i’m glad that you guys read this blog on an everyday basis and look forward to reading it each time you enter the office.I’m humbled by this sudden increase of readers.
To you guys,MaQ just wanna say thank you, because as honesty hurts,it always gets you thinking and i’m glad that speaking out to our community in this way is a must .Trust MaQ,i don’t earn anything from this and it’s about time that changes and education needs to be made. And i’m no Mother Theresa trying to change lepers to eat their Mee Opeh while, MJ’s ” heal the world ” playing in the background.I just believe that small pointers on things just need to be addressed.
And fellow Badoque Kakis, i was asked on an email “What is coming soon MaQata ? Well, the folks at Badoque and their great friends would like to add some colour, further to its premises.MaQ will go into detail on this preety soon.Just for you Rahman and the many others that has been asking “WHAT IS IT???All i can say for now to you all is ” YOU GOTTA WAIT ” MaQ is not gonna go BOOOYA chatty chat chat now and am saving that for another time because it will just lead you to this blog again tomorrow.
Another point i would like to bring about is this.MaQ overheard one of the team members handling a reservation for the evening.Customer confirms it, and when it has reached the time that he or she supposed to arrive,satu pelutik pun tak nampak and takes it for granted that it’s ok.
Tell you what, let MaQata teach you what is to be done.As a customer, you’re not always right after all. Let’s say, you’ve decided to make another arrangement at the last minute,TOLONG LAH angkat tangan yang sangat berat tu and telephone establishment tersebut to say you’re either late or you’re not coming.It’s basic courtesy fellow brethern and sisters.Talking about brothers and sisters,MaQ nak show you her fellow sisters! Tadaaa!!!!

Yes,MaQata the Malay fairy can fall sick too.I mean,we are afterall creatures of the almighty kan.So the dreadful Saturday was when MaQata punya wings started to dry up macam a scalp of an apek who tak mandi for weeks.MaQata felt her throat drying up with the sun, that was panas terik like it was a scene during judgement day.MaQ was proclaimed a sick fairy last Saturday Morning.
MaQ crept across her room floor like a dying fish gasping for water.It was exactly like one of those scenes that you could mix.Firstly, from that war movie,Saving Private Ryan and that scary scene from Shutter where the girlfriend of that good looking thai guy, cuci gambar and saw pictures of a woman creeping on the floor and pointing to the cupboard.
Wait,wait MaQ nak tambah sikit.And that scene from Exorcist,where Linda Blair terlantak atas katil with weird noises coming out of her nostrils and Specials of the Day at Badoque, written on my stomach.Tengok tu,MaQ nyer description panjang tanpa comas.
It’s preety obvious that the sick season is back again.As i sat on the corner of the shop,i could hear coughs,sneezes and coughs..Did i mention coughs?.I saw the Badoque team, passing serviettes to these folks and i had a feeling instantly,that the season is here to stay for some time.” Bila sakit, baru nak ingat tuhan! “ was my mother’s favourite line.Bilang dia,its okay to rub it in.Its really ok!
Today is Monday yet again.And For Mondays,Badoque has her Specials.

Hello fellow badoque kakis,
Weekend sudah bermula, and i bet you guys have made plans to either chill at home,keluar dengan membas or just sleep off the tiredness you’ve had the past week.
MaQ admits that she updated the blog late today.What do you expect? MaQ needs to think of what to type about today.MaQ had her usual imaginary double espresso and a piece of croissant layered with chicken mayonaise,stuffed with crisp lettuce and chunky sliced tomatoes.
What a way to start a Friday! Badoque punya sandwiches macam gitu jugak, in which is why i love the food,ambience and people here. I need my nap on hot afternoons like this.Infact,i did have a fast one just now.MaQ flew to the roof and since angin bukan main hari ni, Apa lagi.MaQ dozed off in seconds.
MaQ met another rookie fairy of the chinese restaurant next to Badoque when MaQ woke up just now.She was a pixie to be exact,and yes, She’s from China.She smiled at me from the tip of the window, and MaQ being MaQ just screamed in a kewat manner, ” Hello BABY GIRL!” She ofcourse,didn’t understand anything i said.Like any of them would.I did a sign language like a cave-woman in distress and asked her to follow me for a formal introduction to Simpang Bedok and she gladly followed from behind.
We flew from shop to shop and i introduced to them, the elves from the coffeeshops at the front.The Giants at Shop N Save and the other cheena fairies that MaQ tak pernah berkenan from the other outlets.It was abit susah lah i have to admit. Ayam berbual dengan itik lah nak dikatakan.MaQ belanja dia teh gajah and epok-epok madness before allowing her to go back to the chinese restaurant.
MaQ heard from the staff the other day,while they were conversing to the customers that Badoque will be having a little something special for their customers preety soon. Let’s just say,its a little contribution from Badoque’s dear friends whom wanna add a little colour to this green spot at Simpang Bedok. MaQ will definetely update you further on this.
Because MaQ tengah belengas now, i shall head to the toilet now and have a fast shower ala Palmolive ad with slow moving shots.

As some of you read in MaQ’s previous entry, i needed a break, and a break i received. MaQ had to apply Zambuk all over her hands so that she would be able to type today’s entry.On MaQ’s flying journey back to Fairyland, MaQ saw a whole lot of trees that the strong winds blew out of their roots,just like some people i constantly see here at Simpang Bedok. But let’s not go there just as yet.
MaQata would like to introduce to you two of my closest friends that have been here at Badoque since day 1. They’re the frangipani trees,Wardah and Salmah.Wardah is a big mak nenek and is going through a bad acne problem.I recommended her a good fairy tree doctor and had to go through a little snip snip so that it would solve her scalp problem. Salmah on the other hand,is Badoque’s pride and joy,just like her lamb shanks.
She just gave birth to her pink flowers and i personally pitch in to take care of them from time to time. It’s like taking care of 13 human toddlers,and since you guys forget that MaQ is a fairy and the magic wand always comes in dandy when playing” stone dance” with them.Imagine 13 Tanggangs, but no sumpahs from mothers.Salmah and Wardah are my gossip kakis lah to be honest.
They practically open their ears to listen to folks at the exterior of the shop ,while i listen to folks everywhere.Haha. I know, i know.Asal fairy melayu ni suka jaga tepi kain orang.HELLO! You’re mistaken. Sorry MaQ is no melayu takda kerja but gossip,gossip,gossip.MaQ is just someone who happens to listen and takkan you all expect me to just buat bodoh la kan.Bila you hear two or three women tengah ranchak berbual,and you’re invisible, WHAT ELSE LAH KAN!
MaQata decided to take a lift from her cousin to Badoque today.He slept over at my place last night and i decided to hop on his magic carpet.These days,magic carpets are not like those that you see in disney’s Alladin or a classic P.Ramlee movie. To be honest,they’re now shaped like motorcycles.So the only difference is that they’re of persian or afghani quality,the finest if i may add.My cousin’s carpet infact looks like a super4 that you usually see our handsome Abang Melayus ride.
I was nervous ofcourse, especially when you’re wearing a Baju Butterfly, and MaQ is not going to jack her bottom while riding.I’ve got more panache’ than that.MaQ sat sideways like a true blue Minah Kampung, while holding on a basket of epok-epok, that has to be delivered to a nearby kedai makan.
Furthermore,just because i’m a fairy,that doesn’t make me a carebear.So you guys,takmuh imagine that i’m riding a volkswagon beetle that is made of clouds.MaQ would take about an hour journey on her own,if she were to fly from Alam Kayangan to the shop.Hey! once and awhile bagi my wings some time to rest lah.While MaQ rode on the carpet bike,the only song playing on her mind was ” Im Like a Bird” by Nelly Furtado.
MaQ stretched her hands out wide and did a Titanic move minus Leornado behind me ofcourse.I felt energised with jitters down my spine at the same time.What would you expect from someone who rarely rides or becomes a pillion on a carpet bike? When MaQ arrived,it was the usual routine.MaQ would walk through the walls and sit at the cosy corner that Badoque just installed and read up on the who’s who on National Enquirer.while seeing the staff slowly opening up the store.
MaQ is very particular on cleanliness,and its a good thing that the staff here take extra care of it.Dorang sapu,then they mop the entire floor and wipe the glasses and fridges.MaQ kan invisible supervisor,so if they missed a spot,MaQ would give a whisper in their ears and they would think it’s their own conscience doing it’s work.
Talking about cleanliness, everyone i’m sure has heard about the killer rojak.It’s a sad thing as that shop has been around for more than 30 years i heard.MaQ met their fairy god achi the other day when she went for her court hearing.Licence Fairy God Achi tu, kena gantung because she put too much attention on gobbling up leftovers rather than helping and supporting her hosts.Her Royal Majesty Queen of Fairies, took a tombak and denounce her promotion off her shoulders that she received 2 years ago.It was all over the Fairy Papers.Kesian dia….
Sapa cakap cleanliness tak penting. We are governed by rules and regulations to teach us what can or cannot be done. So i guess something did went wrong or people couldn’t be bothered as they pay so much attention to making lots of money rather than upkeeping the store or place. Tempat dah femes lagi pun. And Jangan Be A Typical Melayu and say these ” Alah standard, Macam mana orang melayu nak maju…maju sikit jer….abis slack”
No.1 – They’re not Melayu. They’re Indian Moslems. And just because they share the same faith, that doesn’t mean they’re Malays.
No.2 – Suka ajer you all sedap kat mulut ” Alah melayu…maju sikit jer…slack..” That is like amagawd …sooooooooo typically melayoooo. Puhhllleeeasseee Sister. ( I’m saying that in a Paris Hilton slang ) Give them a break.
If any place, makes a mistake, then they shouldn’t be punished by the community for the longest time as they would eventually pay for it. How about attacking the young couples that make out under the blocks for a change! Jangan nak step nasi tambah to people’s already miserable lifes. That’s like another malay disease i would like to tackle. Ok the heat outside is getting to me. And when we all thought that the rain that seemed to be gathering last night, was going to lighten our burdens, it instead cheated our feelings. Angin jer kenchang, hujan dia macam semut-semut pergi camping.
Ok ok. MaQata feels like an ice kachang down her fairy throat. I shall stop here just for now and continue when the sun decides to take a holiday. MaQ nak kena report strength to Chief Clerk of Fairyland, through the beautiful toilet mirror of Badoque.

What a lovely morning today don’t you think ? It rained early in the morning and i flew from fairyland to the shop with a positive attitude not knowing come what may.I just love it, how i selitkan that song from Moulin Rouge. Anyway,today MaQata nak talk about pe’el Melayu yang tak sopan sekali.Screw it.MaQata is a Malay Fairy so don’t talk about maQata being racist or elitist.MaQata is a fairy who is simply sick and tired of it all.
I’ve covered The Malays from Kembangan yesterday,but i shall cover the rest today.
Malays yang baru dapat digicam
These are the sort that obviously felt left out about 2 years ago when they couldn’t afford a digicam and felt that they should be allowed to be bitchy and blog sesuka hati dia even though she or he, hasn’t been to places to dine besides Mak’s place and the kopitiam melayu where every family tends to have their meals.He or she needs to let people know that he or she’s a good blogger so all he or she does,is bitch and bitch.
If you’ve just got a digicam or a camera that you can bring into the water while you’re on holiday in tioman, just focus on your face or your family and friends,and takmuh nak step food critic of the year.MaQata has seen enough to last her fairy lifetime.
Leave it to the experts to be the judge of things.I’ve seen some good blogsites who have done a long time of soul searching for good halal food and i shall just leave it to them in dedicating and sharing their knowledge with the rest.MaQata would gladly accept positive or constructive criticisms as it would assist anyone with their business,even badoque.But ,bila you kutuk-mengutuk,it just seems you’re taking things personal.To me,you tak penting girl.Be it men or women,i tetap panggil you girl.
To the above mentioned who comes into this category,you will never be happy in your life because you’re just a simpleton who just got digitally enhanced and thinks people ought to listen to just you and only you and suma orang salah and no one can ever please you.MaQata very sedih with this.
Malays yang dulu tak was-was and speaks good english
Maqata loves these folks.Why you ask me ? I’ll let you know why.Because,they’ve seen the world.They have alot of chinese or non-muslim friends and when they were younger,they were not as was-was with their food.And were able to taste the finer things in life besides gado-gado and mee rebus bedok interchange.
They tasted the real stuff and their food knowledge is excellent.They are able to sit at coffeeshops to eat mee siam cair and enjoy the bests, that non halal establishments could offer as Maq mentioned earlier.Maqata can’t question their faith,because that’s between them and the almighty.And furthermore,they’re very easygoing and relaxed to serve.MaQata enjoys seeing this scene,each time the folks in this catergory comes in.They’ve had their fair share of glory in their days,and would prefer to sit back and just enjoy the food.
To the abovementioned,MaQata nak say,”Syabas pada you girl!” for being the humble diner that you are and for being happy with the simplest things.In God’s grace,you will have a happy life.Abis Maq pandai pandai tau,says who will and will not have a good life.Well,if you’re not happy with what you’re reading so far,you may exit kay,cause i’m not in the position to please anyone in general.I don’t work for this place and i’m free to speak as i please.Kalau you rasa you terasa,on certain points,bagus.Then atleast Maq has woken up some senses.
Melayu baru naik
I see this as a personal challenge.Melayus that just started speaking english when he or she left ITE and started mixing with friends whom are either in some art or music scene and feels that he or she must compete in either what they wear or what book he or she reads.And after a couple of years,they would start putting their careers into place and eventually work in an office for the longest time and are exposed to the many fascinations that life has to offer, besides rushing home to catch what’s on tv.
He or she would put a notch up on everything that they do and expect the very best for themselves.They’re very hoity-toity,but tetap tinggal in a 4 room flat with their parents at chai-chee.These folks get very excited about hari raya even when its 2 months away because its another reason to impress their family members on what they;re wearing for that day.These folks,Maqata tak suka also.
Its so hard to please these customers i tell you.Suma orang buat,salah.Suma orang serve,salah.Try opening your own shop if you could do better.Melayu suma semangat lima minit..when it comes to doing things or getting it done,they procrastinate.I’m not talking about the malays in general or those whom have done themselves well.But the few,that just gives the rest a bad name.MaQ yang fairy ni pun bingit.
Eh sudahlah,Maqata type this je,darah mengirap.Maq feels very minah ITE with a tindik hidung when she typed that.
MaQata hears pitter patter of feet.I think the shop has guests.Maqata shall continue on this later.She’s on a roll now.Apa nak buat,when you’re the fairy god mother with ( gucci shades )of a shop.I had to selitkan that too.hehe

MaQata entered the shop today with too many thoughts on her mind.Its a whole lot of anger and frustrations rolled in with some almonds and dark chocolate.I love dark chocolate.Some say it’s good for the heart.The same way,that many claim red wine is also.I’ll stick to dark chocolate,thank you.
I had a nice malay lady that came in today requesting whether Badoque delivers to nearby places.And i gladly waved my wand to her ala stop time.While memba stands still,i checked out what she wearing.” Well done Makcik with standards” She was wearing office wear with a scarf tied at her neck and a coach bag.Obviously,someone who either works in an office nearby.She was also speaking very good english and i knew she stayed at the Melayu Beverly Hills of Kembangan. I told her ” Sorry lah dear,currently kita tak leh deliver pasal BMW fake-husband i rosak,so i guess its best that you dine in jer kat sini”
We call them folks from Kemberly Hills .Their parents were either bankers, businessmen,teachers or proffesionals who spoke good english themselves.They definetely have a piano in the house,that they don’t use anymore,and it sits in the corner with a sapra on top of it.And its used as a table holding candles merepek and photo frames of family members.I’m sure we’ve all seen this.
I waved my wand yet again to release her from her stone structure,and she immediately gave me a jeling manja and repeated ” Girl,you all should deliver tau!” And i thought to myself,there is a kakak metro in you afterall.
Well i gotta be honest,i’ve heard many requests from people for us to deliver but unfortunately,we do not have the logistics for that just as yet.Insyallah sapa tahu la kan, in the near future perhaps.Delivery is definetely something we would like to look into,but to me,it just cheats you out of the service we’re suppose to give you.You pack and leave,it feels so Mcdonaldsich.And since MaQata is the fairy god mother of Badoque,and i have the interests of this spot in my heart..I wouldn’t want it to turn into another Mcdonalds or Mad Jack.Wait a minute,let me take that back.Mad jack is no where near Mcdonalds.Korang Merepek sekali.I met their fairy god mother the other day on the roof.Okay,i think i’m obviously diverting my topic to something else.I’m very fond of that, i gotta admit.
Puhhhlease…lady.You ought to get yourself out of that song fu and a pet kangaroo isn’t going to grab the attention out of your face.And lately,kau bau because the northern china winds were blowing into my directions and i managed to a grab a scent that wasn’t exactly ” Mad” for my senses.And there you were,standing in that direction..”Tolonglah…mandi first can or not before you claim to be a fairy god mother.Malu kan bangsa dan negara fairyland”
